Join Serra Auto Park on September 24th, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to see some of the best cars and motorcycles in the area, gathered at our dealership at the Bonnie Gladys Car and Bike Show! This family-friendly event has a $20 entry fee that grants entry and a t-shirt, along with access to the show, 50/50 raffles, and raffle baskets with all proceeds being donated to Stewart’s Caring Place in Fairlawn, Ohio. You’ll also enjoy music from Sound Waves Entertainment and live music from -area band Burn the Bridge. And we’re not going to let you go hungry. Concessions will be available from Curt’s Concessions. Who Was Bonnie Gladys?
Five years ago, Bonnie Gladys was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the vulva, a disease that lead to many surgeries and treatments until it took her life on December 16, 2021. Unable to fulfill her dying wish to see the ocean, her children Rickey Woodward and Katie Watts reached out to Stewart’s Caring Place. The organization was able to give Bonnie Gladys a virtual ocean visit before she passed.
About Stewart’s Caring Place
Stewart’s Caring Place was founded in 2003 by Mimi Surloff after her husband, Dr. Stewart Surloff, succumbed to lung cancer. After he was diagnosed, Dr. Surloff spent a great deal of time worrying about other cancer patients who didn’t have the support system of family and friends that helped him and his family during his illness. Dr. Surloff’s legacy lives on through the work of Stewart’s Caring Place as they offer non-medical services to cancer patients. This services include taking Bonnie Gladys to a virtual beach, support groups, fitness and yoga classes, beauty and wig resources, a food pantry, family programs, webinars, financial and legal consultations, and more to make life a little easier for -area cancer patients and their families. These services also allowed them to focus on what really matters and spend quality time together.
